A crucial part of measuring the success of our standardised open banking APIs is to ensure API Providers are supporting Third Party use cases and meeting industry performance targets. These targets have been set by the industry as guidelines that set out ranges and outline the minimum expectations for a successful open banking ecosystem.
They are intended to promote system efficiency and to support the development of innovative open banking products and services that can support customer use cases, and provide confidence to the industry that the APIs will perform as expected in production.
How the requirements work
Our performance and monitoring requirements are flexible and non-binding guidelines for the industry to build towards and set expectations for API Providers to meet. These requirements will be updated as the ecosystem matures and the expectations of Third Parties change alongside API Provider capability.
Further consideration will be given to defining performance standards that will act as compliance requirements as well as giving greater consideration to the monitoring tools and systems necessary to ensure conformance.
